WHAT PEOPLE SAY ABOUT TNYL
“Can I hug you? The Name You Like gave me a safe space to talk about my mother. I don't get to discuss her often. She's been deceased since I was 15.
“It affirmed me. My name meaning was almost exactly what I've learned about myself over the years.
“The Name You Like truly made me stop and reflect on what my name means to me. The experience was beautiful and meaningful. It is not just about focusing on names; it helps you connect to them in a deeper way, a way you never thought about before.
“It's VERY pretty!
“My mother tells me the story that, all these years ago, she worked for a man named Elijah Muhammad, whom a lot of people know as Malcolm X's teacher. She asked Elijah Muhammad to do her the honor of naming her firstborn, so he did so, and that's where my name comes from. I have been rather reserved over the years to talk about it because I always felt like I was being thrown on the spot or whatever. But as my kind sister Lady D just told me, I need to step into it, own it, claim it, so that's what I'm doing here today.
“It is my pleasure to purchase such a beautiful work of art, and I look forward to sharing it with others. I love it! I'm really amazed by your handwriting craftsmanship. The name chosen is a combination of letters from my mom's, sister's, brother's, and best friend's first names. I've been looking for a way to use the acronym in some way, and now I have. Thank you so much for providing me with that opportunity.
“It’s good therapy for your soul.
“This is a beautiful business that honors people and their name(s).
“I actually never knew what my name meant. I knew how my parents arrived at naming me, but I thought it was just a combination of two names. This experience has made me feel more honored to have my name and pushed me to own it and live up to it.
“I learned there's power in one’s name. Owning that inspires confidence!
